The Zakat Fund Provides the First Service of its Kind in
Accepting the Zakat Amounts
Introduction
'The world is a small village', 'the e-government', 'excellence',
'leadership', 'contemporary vision of the a duty', all these words
and mottos, turned into spirit motivating the Zakat Fund staff and
giving rise to the pioneering idea of the Fund. Given the fact that
technological progress is striding forward rapidly, it became
demanding to eliminate the traditional methods of Zakat collection,
depending on handwritten receipts which need to be further treated.
Idea
Providing portable printers connected, through the Bluetooth, with
portable devices equipped with a copy of the program of receipt
issuing, which is used in the Fund premises. Said devices are also
equipped with GPRS cards to enable them to access the Internet and
then reach the internal network via the Internet through the CISCO
CLIENTS and access the base for conducting the collection process
electronically.
Steps of Program Operation
1. Starting the computer and printer.
2. Starting the Bluetooth program to connect the printer with the
computer.
3. Connection to the Internet via the GPRS card.
4. Contact the Fund's internal network via the Internet using the
CISCO CLIENTS program.
5. Starting the receipt program.
6. Collecting the amount, and issuance of the receipt.
7. Closing the program and connecting the Internet.
Objectives of the Project
1. Facilitating the process of collecting the Zakat amounts outside
the premises of the Fund.
2. Facilitating the process of recording the Zakat amounts
collected, and reducing the time needed.
3. Avoiding human errors.
4. Providing a distinct and unique service.
5. Materializing the Fund motto, by making use of the most
up-to-date technologies in the service of Zakat.

3. Preserving the electronic serial receipt numbering.
The Target Group
The Zakat payers in the UAE who request the payment of their Zakat
without having to go to the Fund premises.
