The Zakat Fund Receives Al-Fujairah Education Council
Source: The Zakat Fund Media, 13/6/2010 HE Abdullah Bin Oqeidah Al-Muheiry, Secretary-General of the Zakat Fund received at the Fund's headquarters in Abu Dhabi a large delegation from Al- Fujairah Education Council within the framework of discussing cooperation in providing assistance to the needy school and university students. The delegation comprised Counselor Rashid Ubaid Saif Al-Hefeity, Chairman of the Council; Aisha Ahmed Al-Yamahi, Vice-Chairman; and Counselor Abdul-Salam al-Khalayleh, the Secretary-General of the Council. Abdullah Al-Muhairy stated: We are pleased to cooperate with all institutions throughout the UAE for the benefit of everyone on our beloved homeland of citizens and residents according to the policy of the Federal Government, and we extend our special thanks to Al-Fujairah Education Council for its initiative to develop a partnership with us in the areas of charity and social work in Al-Fujairah. Al-Muhairy affirmed the success of the Zakat Fund in introducing many innovative projects for the service of Zakat, including the "Read" Project, one of its earliest projects, which serves a broad category of the community members. The Zakat Fund also expanded the project to provide its services to both undergraduate students as well as university students, making the Fund the first charity to contribute to the provision of university scholarships, at a cost of 200 thousand dirhams per student over four years of study, open to increase depending on the nature of the study. On his part, Rashid Al-Hefiety stated: We are pleased to be partners with the Zakat Fund in Abu Dhabi to help our students complete their education without difficulty. We seek to achieve partnership with the Zakat Fund, the leading institution in charity and social work on the level of the UAE, whose projects and services have become the talk of the street in the UAE for their excellence and strength, and their noble objectives in the extending the umbrella of charity work throughout the UAE. Al-Hefeity stated that Al- Fujairah Education Council is concerned with enhancing the educational level of children in Al-Fujairah, including the public, university, technical, and higher education, in order to achieve strategic learning outcomes for the promotion of the social and national goals to cope with the present and future prospects. This come in materialization of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Muhammad Al-Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Federation and Ruler of Fujairah, may Allah protect him. The meeting was attended by Jamal Al-Mazru'i, Director of the Department of Zakat Revenues and Information; and Muhammad Sulayman Al-Ballushi, Director of the Zakat Beneficiaries Department from the Zakat Fund. Whereas it was attended by Hamdan Rashid Rashoud, the Council Member; Alosh Rashid Al-Yamahi, Assistant Secretary-General; Dr. Abdel Halim Al-Madany, Director of Research and Studies; Firas Mahdi; Mariam Al-Mutairi; and Amal Al-Abdouly from Al- Fujairah Education Council. At the end of the meeting, Counselor Rashid Al-Hefiety presented the Council's shield and a crystal model of Al- Fujairah to HE Abdullah Al-Muheiry, Secretary-General of the Fund.
