Both of the Zakat Fund and the Red Crescent Authority distributed 11 million Dirhams, from Zakat money paid by benevolent people, on Zakat money beneficiaries all of over the country. They distributed about 568 thousand Dirhams among 815 families in Al Ain city on the project’s first day.

Have Compassion on Them Both (my parents)) will be launched on Monday,. The function of the campaign will be held under the sponsorship of Zakat Fund. Moreover, all the Emirates of the state will interconnect together till the end of April.

Yesterday morning, a joint press conference was held by both of the Zakat Fund and The Red Crescent Authority at the Fund's headquarters, in Abu Dhabi. This conference was meant to announce the inception of the second joint campaign between the Fund and The Red Crescent to distribute Zakat, which amounts to 11 million Dirhams, that was raised by the Fund. This press conference was attended by His Excellency, Dr. Hamdan bin Muslim AL-Mazrou'i, assistant under secretary of state at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, assistant for the Islamic Affairs sector, head of the High Committee of the Emirates' Red Crescent Authority, Deputy Secretary General for the Local Affairs and His Excellency, Abdullah bin Aqeida AL-Mhairi, Secretary General of the Fund.

A press conference will be held today (Saturday) under the auspices of Muhammad Bin Nkhairah, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and Zakat Fund’s Board of Directors Chairman, at the Fund's headquarters in Abu Dhabi. This press conference is going to be held to announce the Fund's plan to distribute 11 million Dirhams of Zakat money (recently raised by the Fund) among beneficiaries, according to legal channels.

His Excellency, Abdullah bin Aqeida Al-Mhairi, Secretary General of Zakat Fund disclosed that one of the benefactors granted, to the Fund, six million Dirhams, which were due on his money savings. Nevertheless, he required to remain anonymous. This was the largest bulk of money granted by a benevolent person to the Fund since its establishment.
“Zakat on Line” A Service will Soon be Launched Via Dubai Electronic Government

"Zakat on Line" is the latest service Dubai Government is ready to incept in cooperation with the Zakat Fund in Abu Dhabi. The two sides will sign an agreement in this regard seeking broader horizons of cooperation. Rihab Loutah, director of electronic services in Dubai's Electronic Government, disclosed to "AL-Bayan" newspaper that, yesterday, a delegation from the Fund visited Dubai's Electronic Government. The visit was paid for the sake of discussing means of cooperation benefiting from the achievements of Dubai's Electronic Government to enhance the Fund's projects and efforts.

Zakat Fund Starts Arranging A Number of Religious Lectures

On Tuesday, Zakat Fund will start giving a number of Lectures on Zakat. The Lectures will be delivered by the Reverend Sheikhs.
The Lectures will be addressed to various brackets of the community including women. The Reverend Sheikh, Waleed Hamouda AL Ebry will deliver a Lecture entitled "Would You Like to Have A Taste of Faith?" This lecture will be delivered at the headquarters of the General Federation of women on Tuesday evening 1/3/2005, at seven O'clock. A number of lectures will be delivered at the Association of Women in Abu Dhabi and other centers that are concerned with women affairs. Also a number of Lectures will be delivered in some schools and universities all over the country.
Zakat Fund Organizes A Training Course on The Art of Public Relations

Last week, the United Arab Emirates’ Zakat Fund organized a course on the art of communicating and dealing with others. The course aims at promoting the performance of the Fund’s employees in order to achieve a bright and ideal service of Zakat money distributing, and also to provide the best service for the Fund’s clients.

After four months, since its inauguration, Zakat Fund moved from its temporary premises, in the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, to its permanent headquarters in Al Ehsan tower (a block owned by the General Authority of Endowments) at street No. 4 (Al Murour St.), opposite the ministry of Education and next to the Central Post Office in Abu Dhabi. This has taken place at the advent of the year 2005. This relocation of the Fund came in the light of developing its services, advertising its name and spreading public awareness about the obligation of Zakat. The reception lounges for the Fund's guests are in the process of being furnished in a way that is compatible with the modern vision of the Fund, to secure the utmost possible convenience and privacy for both the benefactors and the beneficiaries.
The aim of such new services provided by the Fund is serving both of the benefactors and beneficiaries alike. The area and potentialities available at the new premises serve such an aim. Two separate rooms were designated for beneficiaries; that is, one for men and the other for women. Also a big hall was designated for Zakat payers.
It is worth noting that the Zakat Fund has many departments specialized in fulfilling such an obligation. Among these departments are the ‘General Secretary’, ‘Financial Department’, ‘Human Resources and Services Department’, ‘Department for Zakat Worthy’ and ‘Department for Zakat Resources and Information’. Currently the process of setting rules, regulations, programmes, machinery, to attract qualified human cadres, is in progress.
Zakat Fund launched its new website, which aims at communicating with different classes of the community. The website gives news about the Fund introducing its administration and staff, members of the Board of Directors, in addition to information about almsgiving; its obligation, beneficiaries and legal channels.

Zakat Fund has winded up visits paid to the sick at hospitals during the Greater Bairam. The Fund embarked on these visits to disseminate the spirit of mutual helpfulness and mercy among the members of the community and to wish the sick a happy Bairam in a bid to boast their morale and make them feel happy. This was done in the context of the informative campaign organized by the Fund to propagate its activities among the different categories of the community. His Excellency, Abdullah bin Aqeida Al Mhairi, Secretary General of the Fund, said that, after the Greater Bairam, the Fund will organize visits to a number of hospitals in Dubai and the Northern Emirates to present gifts to the sick people and acquaint them with the nature of work exercised by the Fund. Money Raised by Zakat Fund During the Last Three Months Amounts to 6 Million Dirhams

Abdullah bin Aqeida Al-Mhairi, secretary general of the Fund said to "Al-Bayan" Newspaper that the money raised by the Zakat Fund since its foundation, three months ago, amounted to 6 million Dirham and added that the holy month of Ramadan recorded the highest donations from the Zakat (payers). Money raised during this month has amounted to 5 million Dirhams.
