The Zakat Fund in Abu Dhabi allocated a monthly stipend of 3000 for a citizen called Abu Abdel-Rahman over a whole year to help overcome the difficult financial circumstances he faces.

Abu Abdel-Rahman, whose story was published in Emarat Alyoum is a citizen from Abu Dhabi. He has a family of three sons, with impaired eyesight, and he also has a problem with the rental of the apartment where he lives. The rent is 70 thousand dirhams, which he cannot afford any more because of the deterioration of his financial circumstances, and the owner asks him to pay the installments in arrears or leave the apartment.

HE Abdullah Bin Oqeidah Al-Muheiry, Secretary-General of the Zakat Fund received the delegation of the Zakat Department Foundation of Djibouti at the headquarters of the Fund in Abu Dhabi, during the delegation's visit to the UAE to discuss the means of cooperation.
The delegation, headed by Umar Ismail Ujal, General Manager of the Zakat Department in Djibouti, accompanied by both Muhammad Hassan Abdullah, Manager of Projects and Relations, and Abdullah Awliya, the Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of Djibouti paid a visit to the headquarters of the Zakat Fund in Abu Dhabi to discuss coordination and cooperation mechanisms, and review the Fund's pioneering experience and work systems, with a view to benefiting from them.

Abu Alaa, a 55 year-old Jordanian, suffers from kidney failure three years ago, and must have dialysis three times a week, and was advised by doctors at the Tawam Hospital to have a kidney transplant as soon as possible, because his health is deteriorating.

Abu Alaa has a family of five children, and he works in a private company for 10 thousand dirhams out of which he pays 8600 dirhams as payment of bank obligations, and lives in an apartment paying a rent of 26 thousand dirhams.

HE Abdullah Bin Oqeidah Al-Muheiry, Secretary-General of the Zakat Fund signed a Memorandum of Understanding with HE Dr. Ahmed Khalil Al-Mutawa, CEO of the Khalifa Fund for Project Development, at the Khalifa Fund headquarters. 5 Million Dirhams Offered by Sharjah Islamic Bank to the Zakat Fund

Sharjah Islamic Bank announced donating five million dirhams to the Zakat Fund to support the benevolent efforts which seek to achieve a socially interdependent and interrelated human society.
Muhammad Abdullah, CEO of the bank announced that taking part in supporting the Zakat Fund is the beginning of a strategic community partnership with the Fund, which mainly contributes to enhancing the charitable events, in application of the basic principles of Sharjah Islamic Bank, and as part of the strategy approved by its board of directors for the dissemination of the concept of community partnership.

Knowledge Management in the Zakat Fund

The Zakat Fund organized a course on knowledge management at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, under the program of human resources development, in cooperation with the Department of Human Resources Development of the Dubai Police. The course was held over three days with the participation of 30 members of the Fund, and was presented by Lieutenant Anwar Saleh Al-Nemr.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Oqeidah Al-Muheiry Secretary-General of the Zakat Fund stated that the Zakat Fund is keen to find ways that help promote the employees thought and performance, as we live in a world based on information which the individual needs to know and deal with, so as to improve the level of the individual; hence the performance. Knowledge management is one of the modern concepts, whose literature has developed rapidly. The past years have witnessed the increasing interest of several sectors in adopting the concept of knowledge management.

The Secretary-General of the Zakat Fund Abdullah Bin Oqeidah Al-Muheiry, stated that the Zakat Fund received an amount of two million and six hundred thousand dirhams, from 33 Arab and European countries.
Al-Muheiry commented that this reflects the trust placed by the Zakat payers outside the UAE in the UAE and its guided government in general and the Zakat Fund in particular, and reflects the confidence of all people on the UAE land in the Fund’s management of the Zakat revenues, as Zakat is conveyed to all beneficiaries.

The Zakat Fund continues to provide assistance within the project (Read) which is sponsored by the Fund to alleviate the suffering of the needy students during the plan of the first quarter of 2010, as it has provided about two million, and six hundred thousand dirhams for payment of the school fees for the needy students.

The Cabinet Approves the Budget of the Zakat and Marriage Funds

Yesterday, the Cabinet approved the budget of the Zakat and Marriage Funds in the UAE for the current year, and decided on a number of appointments and promotions for a number of government agencies staff.
His Highness Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, presided over the cabinet meeting held at the presidential palace yesterday, in the presence of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. The Cabinet also agreed to adopt a number of standard state specifications, and amending some previous specifications regulations, and approved the establishment of the UAE Embassy in the Republic of Chile.

The Zakat Fund Presents the Third Pillar on the Holy Quran Radio
