Rashid Bin Dimass As-Sweedi, Vice Chairman of Zakat Fund, headed the delegation of the Fund on its visit to the ‘Old People House’ in Ash-Sharjah, last week. The visit was paid within the framework of the campaign of “Wa Qul Rabbi Erhamhuma” (O! Lord have mercy on them both (my parents)), which Zakat Fund has launched its first stage during the current month. He was accompanied by Nabil Al-Bu-'Enain, director of Human Resources and Services Dept., Muhammad Sulaiman Al-Blushi, head of the Legal Office, Ali Al-Jabri, a senior social worker.

The Zakat Fund Organizes a Lecture in the Ministry of Interior as a Part of its Awareness Spreading Campaign

In collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, the Zakat Fund organized a lecture under the title “Zakat: Growth and Increase” which was delivered by Sheikh Talib Muhammad Al-Shuhiy, the preacher in the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Awqaf. The lecture was attended by a number of officers and officials of the Ministry of Interior, as well as a delegation from the Zakat Fund.

In the framework of its charitable campaign, a delegation from the Zakat Fund paid a visit to the Disabled and Eldercare Medical Center at Abu Dhabi, where they were received by Dr. Ali Al-Attas, Manager of the Center, and Mrs. Maryam Al-Fazari, Head of the Department of Social Research. This was stated by Fatimah Al-Yabhuni, Manager of the Department of Zakat Beneficiaries in the Fund, pointing out that the visit included delivering a group of items requested by the Center at an earlier time, and a discussion of the forms of cooperation between the two foundations. A preliminary configuration of a practical program, which enables the provision of the requirements of the Center’ inmates, was set.
The Zakat Fund and the Red Crescent Authority Resume the Distribution of Zakat at Abu Dhabi and Bani Yas

The Zakat Fund in collaboration with the Red Crescent Authority continued the distribution of Zakat amounts collected over the past period, to the poor and chaste families at Abu Dhabi and Bani Yas. The total number of beneficiaries reached 5500 families throughout the different parts and cities of the UAE. 570 thousand dirhams were distributed at Abu Dhabi, which benefited 622 families of the weak and chaste categories targeted by the project.
The Zakat Fund Discusses the Achievements and the Five-Year Plans in Its First Meeting

The Zakat Fund Board of Directors held its first meeting at Abu Dhabi under the presidency of His Excellency Rashid Bin Dimas Al-Swaidy, Vice Chairman of the Zakat Fund; in the presence of Abdullah Bin Oqeidah Al-Muheiry, General Secretary of the Zakat Fund. At the outset of the meeting, the Board of Directors welcomed the new members who were appointed according to the Cabinet Decree upon the directions of His Highness/Sheikh Khalifah Bin Zayid Al-Nahayyan, President of the UAE, to have representatives of the seven Emirates. The four members are Ahmad Muhammad Al-Khatiry for Ras Al-Kheima, Sultan Rashid Al-Matrushi for Ajman, Ibraheem Ubayd Al-Ali for Umm Al-Qewein; and Abdullah Said Al-Yamahi for Al-Fujayrah.
4620 Families Benefited from the Project of the Zakat Fund and the Red Crescent Authority

The Zakat Fund in collaboration with the Red Crescent Authority continued the distribution of Zakat amounts collected over the past period, to the poor and chaste families throughout the UAE. 475 thousand dirhams were distributed at the Western Area, which benefited 550 families, thus increasing the number of families benefiting from the project up till now to reach 4620 families at Al-Ain, Al-Sharjah, Dubai, Ajman, Umm Al-Qewein, Al-Fjayrah, and Ras Al-Kheima.

First yesterday, the Zakat Fund launched the first phase of the charitable campaign “And Say, ‘O My Lord! Have Mercy On Them,’” At Al-Ain city upon the gracious directions of His Excellency/Muhammad Bin Nukhayrah Al-Dhahiry, the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Awqaf. This campaign aims at compensating senior citizens for missing domestic life, establishing communication with them, and relieving their suffering. The event gained the keen concern of His Excellency Abdullah Bin Oqeidah Al-Muheiry, through providing them with their needs and paying visits to the senior citizens who spent their lives in serving their families and homeland, and who deserve respect and honoring.

First yesterday, the Zakat Fund in collaboration with the Red Crescent Authority distributed 570 thousand dirhams of the Zakat collected over the past period, to 598 poor and chaste families that need support and aid, as a part of the project adopted by both sides, to be continued until April 5, and cover different cities and parts of the UAE. The Zakat amounts were distributed at the headquarters of Al-Ahly Sports Club in Dubai in the presence of His Excellency Faraj Bin Fadil Al-Mazru’i, the member of the Board of Directors of the Zakat Fund, and His Excellency Abdullah Bin Oqeidah Al-Muheiry, General Secretary of the Zakat Fund. The distribution was also witnessed by Muhammad Habroush Al-Rumaithy, the Vice General Secretary of the Financial and Administrative Affairs of the Red Crescent Authority, and Muhammad Abdullah Al-Hajj Al-Zar’uny, Manager of the Red Crescent Office at Dubai.
