The Zakat Fund at Abu Dhabi paid the treatment expenses for 100 insolvent patients, 69 at Saqr Hospital, and 31 at Ubaydullah Hospital. Dr./Yasir Eisa Al-Nu’aimy, the Manager of the Medical Zone at Ras Al-Kheima received a check with the value of 200 thousand dirhams from the Zakat Fund during his reception of the Fund’s delegate Mut’ab Salim, in the presence of Muhammad Rashid Al-Shuhiy, Manager of the Red Crescent Office at Ras Al-Kheima.
A Coordinative Meeting for Discussing Collaboration between the Fund and the Authority of Stocks and Commodities

Zakat Amounts Distributed to 690 Families in the Western Area

In continuity of the fruitful cooperation between the Zakat Fund and the Red Crescent Authority, yesterday one million dirhams of the Zakat amounts was distributed to 690 families in the cities of the Western Area. The distribution covered beneficiaries at Zayid City, Liwa, Al-Marfa’, Ghayathi, Al-Rwayis, Dilmah, and Al-Sal’ in the presence of Mr./ Nabil Ahmad Al-Bu’ainayn, the Manager of the Human Resources and Services in the Zakat Fund. He explained that these efforts are the manifestation of sincere concern and noble ends, which motivated the partnership between the Zakat Fund and the Red Crescent Authority.
750 Families Benefit from the Zakat Fund at Ras Al-Kheima

The Zakat Fund in collaboration with the Red Crescent Authority at Ras Al-Kheima distributed 950 thousand dirhams to 750 families with 4200 members. Said amount was distributed to widows, divorcees, the families with limited incomes, as well as patients, orphans, poor students, debtors, and prisoners’ families. This was carried out under the supervision of Muhammad Sulayman Al-Ballushi, Head of the Legal Office in the Zakat Fund, and Muhammad Zayd Al-Shuhiy, Manager of the Red Crescent Office at Ras Al-Kheima. Al-Ballushi stated that an amount of 565 thousand dirhams was distributed to widows, divorcees, and families with limited incomes, pointing out the role played by the Red Crescent Authority Branch at Ras Al-Kheima in studying the conditions of beneficiaries.
The Zakat Fund Pays the Debts of 158 Humanitarian Cases at Ajman

The Zakat Fund in collaboration with the Red Crescent Authority presented 550 thousand dirhams to pay the debts of 158 debtors, 45 of whom are being sued, and of 113 patients who could not afford to pay the expenses of treatment, medication, and other medical services rendered to them, of those not covered by the free healthcare laws at Ajman.
The Zakat Fund Distributes One Million Dirhams at Al-Fujayrah

In the framework of the project carried out by the Zakat Fund in collaboration with the Red Crescent Authority, for the distribution of Zakat amounts collected over the past period, to the beneficiaries, 600 thousand dirhams were paid yesterday, to settle the debts of patients who could not afford to pay the expenses of surgeries and treatment they received. This helped put an end to the suffering of 569 humanitarian cases at Al-Sharjah.

In its first meeting held yesterday in the Fund headquarters at Abu Dhabi, the legal committee, headed by Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Seddiq, the Manager of the Fatwa and Legislation Department in the Ministry of Justice, discussed the topics listed on the agenda, topped by approving the minutes of the previous meetings. Moreover, the regulation of beneficiaries was discussed and many of its items were approved, while some items were carried forward to the following meeting, and the committee approved launching an international forum on Zakat on the internet to be the first of its kind. The committee members reviewed the service “They Ask About Zakat” and its mechanism, which is a new service provided by the Fund on its website, to enable visitors to get Shari’ah-based inclusive answers to their inquirers.

The Zakat Fund has prepared its training plan for 2006, which comprises many programs and courses for the Fund staff. Mr./Nabil Al-Bu’ainayn, the Manager of Human Resources at the Fund stated that the training plan for this year is a continuous training program with different stages for the promotion of the staff performance levels and helping them acquire new skills. One of the courses is the International Computer Driving License (ICDL), which will be executed in two stages to qualify the Fund staff to obtain it.
